City of Winona Firefighters recently train for Jaws of Life emergencies at Parker Wrecker Services.

The City of Winona firefighters recently held a jaws of life training session. Winona's Fire Chief would like to thank Jeremy Black of Parker Wrecker for hosting the Winona Fire Department’s training meeting and donating four (4) vehicles for training purposes. Thank you for your support.

Hydraulic rescue tools, also known as jaws of life, are used by emergency rescue personnel to assist in the extrication of victims involved in vehicle accidents or railway accidents and cutting large-sized debris of mild metal structures into smaller pieces for extraction of injured/dead victims out from building rubble, as well as other rescues in small spaces. These tools include cutters, spreaders, and rams.

For more information about this training session or how to donate yourself please contact Winona's Fire Chief Barrett Johnson at 662-283-4271.
